Masking technique

I am trying my hand in making CAS cards. I have tried masking technique in this card. I used flowers from Altenew stamp set Beautiful day.

I drew a circle since i wanted the image arranged in an arch. I stamped the flower image on Neenah cardstock, masked it to stamp the leaf so that it was behind the flower. then I masked the leaf so that I could stamp the bunch of flowers. I stamped the image lightly to color them using no line coloring technique.

I used Copic markers to color and shading and highlights done with Derwent water color pencils. I did not have good color pencils and Derwent has bright color shades.

I cut the circle and around the image to make a window. Layered the window with embossed cardstock. Added sequins to add a bling to the card. Stamped and embossed the sentiment from the set and layered it with black cardstock. Here is the completed card.

The color inspiration was from Aletnew March challenge : From Places Abroad - France

No line coloring

I was inspired by Marika's video of no line coloring with flower stamp from Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set.

My first attempt on this type of coloring. I used Magnolia stamp from Altenew. I stamped a second generation stamp on Neenah cardstock and colored with distress inks - Peacock feathers and salty ocean.

I didn't get a bright darker shade for contrast. So used Derwent inktense watercolor pencils for highlighting. Here is the final shaded one.

The contrast is not so defined since my lighter shade should have been still lighter. I lightened a bit with Derwent inktense white pencil....

Birthday card

I wanted to try out a shaker card. So made a small shaker element as a trial and ended adding that to an aperture card. I made the shaker piece with wonky rectangles die and added few sequins and gold glitter balls.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment was die cut and stuck on the shaker piece. An organza ribbon bow with a pearl bling was added to give a delicate touch to the card.

I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in gold. Decorated with handmade flowers using HFC Delightful Daisy die.

On the inner panel I stamped and embossed a cute girl stamp and colored her with copics. A butterfly, also colored with copics to add to the cuteness.

On the inner panel, I added a pocket to insert a photo tag.

 I have used the Row 1 - Flowers + Bling/ Pearl/Sequins/Glitter + Die/Punch cut out also Diagonal - Flowers + Gold/ Silver + Dry/Heat embossing

Hope you liked my card.
Happy crafting :)

gatefold easel card

I was searching for easel card ideas and as usual I searched Christina Griffith's site and she had given a tip of adding a gatefold card to an easel card i.e. two - in - one. So here goes my creation.

Colored this cute girl with Zig clean clear brush pens.

Flowers from Altenew stamp Beautiful Day, as stopper for the easel and colored again with Zig pens.

Layered the flower and added foam tape to give dimension.

Hope you like this card. Thank you for stopping by.

Coloring on vellum

Hi there,

I have seen fabulous cards with coloring on vellum and so I wanted tried my hand in that. Here is a gratitude card I made, since it is the time for sharing and thanksgiving.

I stamped the flower images and heat embossed with white embossing powder and used Zig brush pens for coloring. I used Spellbinder die to create a window and layered it with die cuts from Memory Box dies to create Faux laser cut effect (inspired by Jennifer McGuire). The sentiment is heat embossed in gold.
