Make the world a better place....

Hello peeps,

I made a mixed media tag for DT inspiration post at Southern Girls Challenge. The challenge this time is - A bit of Flash.

  • I created the tag with scrap chipboard as base. I layered it with a pattern paper from Prima paper pack. I have used Lindy's sprays to create the back ground.

  • I created the sentiment in Word doc. and printed it out. I gave it a vintage effect with Tea Dye distress ink.

  • I added die cuts, chipboard embellishments from Mudra, and my own handmade flowers. To finish off I added few sequins.

Thank you stopping by. Do check out other inspiration at SGC  and share your creations.

Till next time - Happy crafting!!

Upcycled bottle

Hello ,

Over the weekend I just gave an old bottle, a makeover. I had this honey bottle which I thought could be changed to a home decor piece.

This project is my DT inspiration post for Itsybitsy

I first cleaned the bottle well and applied 'Lemon Chiffon' chalk paint. I gave  it two coats to get a good coverage. (when applying two coats, allow sufficient time for the first coat to dry before applying the next).

I cut the required portion of the design from the decoupage napkin - 'Forest Flowers'. I glued the napkin using Little Birdie Decoupage Glue.

I used a cling wrap to smoothen out the napkin and to remove wrinkles and trapped bubbles.

I added the napkin piece on all four sides and gave a top coat of Decoupage Glue over all of them.

I then colored the surrounding areas to blend with the napkin. I used Lemon Chiffon  and a touch of Wild Moss chalk paints to get the desired color. I also sprayed brown acrylic paint for an added interest. Finally I gave three coats of varnish allowing at least 1/2 -1 hour drying between each coat.  I added twine and embellishment from Little Birdie.

Here are few pictures of my project:

DT project for ConieFong

Hello there,

I am back with another ConieFong image for my DT inpirational post. For today, I have chosen the 'Baby Ellie' image.

I colored the image with Copics. I used the image on the cover of a baby alum. I have used Peek a Boo (boy) papers from Kaisecraft. I embellished the cover with few of my handmade flowers..

You can buy the image at Conie Fong's Etsy store: Baby Ellie

Friendship Forever - A mixed Media card.

Hello friends,
Today I am sharing a Mixed Media card, efforts of my tiny steps in Mixed Media. This is my DT post for Itsybitsy. I have used their latest release, embossing paste, for creating texture and it is really addictive to see the paste develop texture under a heat gun.. :-)

Here is a sneak peek

Mixed Media tag

Hello,

Here is my inspiration post for Southern Girls Challenge June challenge - Winter Blues.

I made a mixed media tag. I prepared the base of the tag with different blue inks from Altenew and used butterfly collage stamp from Technique Tuesday to create background.

I created few textures with stencil and mini art stones from Prima. I stuck some cheese cloth to add texture. Adhered the flowers, die cut leaf and chipboard elements. Added a splash of gesso and finished off with a blue seam binding ribbon.

Hope you like my tag. Waiting to see your entries to this month's challenge.
