Quilled Name Board

Hi there,

Today I want to walk you through a quilled name board I did recently. I entered crafting world with quilling and absolutely love it. It is time taking but a great stress buster too.

For the name board, I used cardstock - Fabriano Elle Erre and 180 gsm colored paper to get a gradient or ombre effect.

I took a print out of the name and fussy cut each letter. Stuck the letters onto a 12 x 12 thick cardstock and outlined each with 5 mm white cardstock strip.

Filled up the space with 5mm strips of different colored CS. I included a dolphin, ball, butterfly, flower, sunrise and a car to add interest to the background.

Added the details of the baby with pictures and finished the board with small mdf corner embellishments.

Framed the whole board and it was ready to be shipped.

The whole project took about a week, but then I was not working continuously. Enjoyed doing this. I am sharing two more name boards I had done previously.

Painted the Ariel scene and then did the quilling work.

Hope you liked my creations. Do drop your valuable comments and suggestions.

Till next time, Happy crafting!

Mixed Media tag

Hello,

I made a mixed media tag as a DT member of Mudra stamps.

I used Water color paper and inked with DI. Added texture with stencil and dusted some perfect pearls gold for lustre. Added wink of stella on the butterfly for shimmer and few rhinestones and sequins for a glitter.

Words are all I have, to take you heart away....

Hey crafty bugs,

I had recently made few cards for Mudra Stamps as their DT and you can check them here Mudra .
I would like to share one of the cards which I loved creating because it involved coloring with my Zigs (crazy about them).

Stamped and heat embossed the image and colored with Zig color pens. For the background, on a  white CS I lightly added purple, blue and orange zig colors well diluted with water. Splattered black and purple colors and added few die cuts. Assembled the fussy cut images, and added a few colorless sequins. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and cut around the letters and mounted it on foam tape.

I am submitting this for the following challenge:

Easel card with drawer

Hello there,

I have a wonderful project to share which I loved doing. It is an easel card with drawer. So what's new in that you might say, many have done this!!
Well It is my first try and I loved the outcome so thought of sharing with you.
You can put trinkets or goodies in the drawer and it will be a 2-in-1 - greetings with a gift. The drawer size is 5" x 5" x1.5".

I used kraft card stock for the base and layered the pattern papers with black CS. I have used Bob n Betty and Papericious PP , both Indian companies. The flowers are hand made with flower die set from HFC Botanical wings.

Here is one more card that I did. Handmade flowers with the same HFC die.
I am submitting this card for

I love pink color and have used that as the main color and used the rest of the colors also.
My style is a mixture of shabby chic and layered styles.

I am submitting the cards for the following challenge also

gift envelope

Hello,
Good day to you!
I made a box type gift envelope that can make your gifting unique and special. You can use it for gifting money, gift card, chocolates etc. I used Papericious Ephemera pack and brown card stock. I decorated with hand made flowers and die cuts.

Here are a few pictures.

I have done a photo tutorial for the envelope. The dimensions are what I used to create, but it can be changed as you require. Always make a template with a scrap paper and then make the final one.

This envelope has two parts a box and a cover.

For the box
  • Take a card stock and trim it to 8.5" x 7.5" in size.
  • On the 8.5" side score .5" from both the ends.

  • On 7.5" side score at 3.5" and 4"

  • Cut at 3.5" and 4" up to the half inch mark.

  • Now fold at the score lines. I did not remove the small flaps since I thought it will give a perfect closure at the corners and strength.

  • Fold and glue the side flaps.

The cover.
  • Trim a card stock to 11" x 8"
  • On the 11" side score at 3 5/8", 4 1/8", 7 3/4" and 8 1/4"

  • The remaining 2 3/4" at the end will be the flap.
  • On the flap end, I marked 1" down from the tip and drew an offset 'V' shape. You can create any shape for the flap.
  • Decorate with pattern paper and embellishments.
  • I used magnets for closure. If you are using them, stick it before you paste your pattern paper.
Hope the method is clear. This is the first photo tutorial I have done. Suggestions are welcome so that I can improve. Do leave your comments below.
